Dear Whitney,

I LOVE love! Truly, deeply. But let me be honest—I believe love is something to show and celebrate every day, not just by buying obligatory gifts. Valentine's Day really was invented by Hallmark, but similar celebrations offer a weird and wild history!

Before Valentine's cards and flowers, there was Lupercalia—an ancient Roman pagan festival where people "ran through the streets naked for sport and laughter, whipping their love interests with sacrificial animal blood" ... which is both disturbing and pretty hilarious! 😂

The twisted history got darker with the infamous Valentine’s Day Massacre and Saint Valentine being martyred for secretly marrying couples. It's apparent, though, that throughout history, love has always been powerful, messy, and worth fighting for!

So, why celebrate love (in all its forms) on February 14th?

Because healthy love is the #1 thing that brings happiness in life!

Religions, spiritual teachers (and Love Coaches😉) have taught this for millennia, and now science backs it up. According to a Harvard study (the longest study ever conducted on happiness), the key to a happy life is prioritizing close relationships

It sounds simple, but it’s not always easy.

The good news is: Love isn’t just something you "find"; it’s something you can learn, and when you understand the science behind it, you can unlock deeper, healthier, more fulfilling relationships with ease!

So this Valentine’s Day 💕 skip the clichés and focus on what truly matters: lasting, meaningful, fulfilling connection. Remember to reach out to your loved ones and offer yourself some extra self-love!
